MOTION NO. 101

MOTION: Councillor S. Crowe

That it is the policy of SDDC to promote and support communities under pressure from criminal and anti social behaviour and the plan agrees to support and encourage the facilitation of CCTV at the senior citizens facility at Glenview Lodge,Tallaght.

REPORT:

The Draft Development Plan seeks to address the issue of anti-social behaviour in a number of ways including adopting the criteria set out in ‘Guidelines for Designing Out Anti-Social Behaviour’ (2007), conforming to the provisions set out in the Housing Bill 2008 in relation to the adoption of anti- social behaviour strategies and identifying areas appropriate for infill development on open spaces in the county which become the focus for anti-social behaviour.

It is considered that the issue of the placing of CCTV at specific locations is not appropriate for the County Development Plan.

Manager’s Recommendation:

It is recommended that this Motion not be adopted.
