MOTION NO. 211

MOTION: Councillor D. Keating

Reference - Liffey Valley - to propose: "It is the policy of the Council that the Liffey Valley objectives extend to the lands within the proposed expanded Special Amenity Area Order."

REPORT:

It is considered that the DraftCounty Development Plan has in place a series of policies and objectives to protect and enhance the amenity that is the Liffey Valley.

The Council is currently awaiting a response from the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government regarding the expansion of the Liffey Valley SAAO.

Any expansion of the area to which the objectives and policies of the  SAAO apply is undertaken by a separate statutory process to the Development Plan.

 Manager’s Recommendation:

It is recommended that this motion not be adopted.
