MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

National heritage area designations in Brittas, Rathcoole, Saggart de-zone any land the Council owns in these areas that the areas in question undergo local heritage area plans to decrease development here.  that it be a stipulation in the plan to increase heritage areas in these areas where possible. i.e. any land that the council has that is zoned residential, a % set aside 

REPORT:

 The Draft Development Plan sets out a coherent and comprehensive strategy for the promotion of sustainable land use in the County, inlcuding appropriate zoning objectives.  In relation to ownership this is not relavant to the consideration of the Draft Development Plan. The relevance of the mtion to the Draft Development Plan is unclear.

MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that this Motion not be adopted.
