MOTION NO. 125

MOTION: Councillor D. Keating

Under Transportation, Section 2, under park and ride facilities (bullet point no. 6) - proposed to change this item to "This Council makes a firm commitment to pursue as a matter of urgency the provision of park and ride facilities."

REPORT:

Section 2.2.2.i Transport 21 to which the motion appears to refer sets out the main objectives outlined in Transport 21, and the sixth bullet point states the objective to “Develop park and ride facilities at carefully chosen locations”.

This objective is reflected in Section 2.2.22 Park and Ride Facilities which states:

“The Council will investigate the provision of Park and Ride facilities, by identifying, in conjunction with other interested bodies, suitable locations and incorporating these in a comprehensive strategic plan.”

 MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION:

Amend Section 2.2.22 to read as follows:

The Council will investigate as a matter of priority the provision of Park and Ride facilities, by identifying, in conjunction with other interested bodies, suitable locations and incorporating these in a comprehensive strategic plan.
