MOTION NO. 182

MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

That the following amendment be included in the written statement:-

3.3.20 Rathfarnham Village

Add  - the link to Rathfarnham Castle and the village needs to be strengthened.

REPORT:

It is suggested to include the wording ' including linkages to Rathfarnham Castle be strengthened'  be included in between the words ..'as a whole and best achieved.'

Policy TDL22 will ensure that new development will only be permitted where it conserves or enhances its varied character thereby promoting high quality urban change and improvement.  New developments should therefore enhance the physical aspect of Rathfarnham.

 Manager’s Recommendation:

 It is recommended that this Motion be adopted.  Wording to now read:

' The Council recognises that protection and enhancement ofthe area as a whole including linkages to rathfarnham castle is best achieved....'
