MOTION NO. 208
MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
It shall be a policy of the new County Development Plan that Council management must, within six weeks of any approach, bring to the members a full report giving full details of any approach from land owners, developers or speculators to any proposal to provide housing, building of any type, to develop or to alter existing the built or natural environment in any way, whether permitted or open to consideration, that impinges in any way on the Liffey Valley.
REPORT:
The pre-planning process is set out in the Planning and Development Act and provides for discussions relating to potential planning applications, accordingly it would not be appropriate to make public the content of these discussions in advance of any application. It is through the planning application process that proposals for future developments are considered in an open and transparent manner. It is considered that this motion is not appropriate
Manager’s Recommendation:
It is recommended that this motion is not adopted.
