MOTION NO. 203

MOTION: Councillor D. Keating

Liffey Valley - ref. 4.3.7. (iii) - To propose the deletion of the word "major" from the final paragraph in this section. This paragraph will then read "It is an objective of the Council to preserve all areas within the Liffey Valley from housing developments."

REPORT:

With regard to the above this is considered to apply to the SAAO and the areas zoned High Amenity adjoining the Liffey. With respect to the Strategic Environmental Assessment,  the strategy of the Draft Development Plan and the potential positive environmental impacts of this motion, the proposed deletion is considered acceptable.

Manager’s Recommendation:

It is recommended that the motion be adopted and section 4.3.7.iii paragraph one be amended to read as follows

“It is an objective of the Council to preserve all areas within the Liffey Valley from housing developments”
