MOTION NO. 81

MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

In Section 1.3.41 Allotments add the following sentence to the 2^nd paragraph, after “within the park.”: "It is an objective of the Council to examine the making of leases or other arrangements with farmers and owners of agriculture zoned land to facilitate and expand opportunities for residents of the County to rent sites for allotments.”

REPORT:

It is considered that the issue of making of leases or other arrangements with farmers and owners of agriculture zoned land to facilitate and expand opportunities for residents of the County to rent sites for allotments is not appropriate for the County Development Plan.

Policy SCR58: Allotments provides for the examination of the potential to extend the current Allotment Scheme throughout the County to accommodate the increasing demand for allotment space.

Manager’s Recommendation:

 It is recommended that this Motion not be adopted.
