MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

That, in view of the meaning given to the term Childcare in the first paragraph of Section 1.3.21 on page 59, the heading be amended to read: “Childcare and Pre-school Facilities”.

REPORT:

Childcare is taken to mean full day-care and sessional facilities and services for pre- school children and school-going children out of hours. The Draft Development Plan seeks to address the childcare needs of pre-school children and school-age children and the term inherently encompasses pre-school facilities.

Manager’s Recommendation:

It is recommended that the Motion is not adopted.
