MOTION NO. 247

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To add a specific local objective to seek removal of the pylon next to the Sentinel Building in Adamstown.

REPORT:

The motion relates to lands that fall within the SDZ area and are covered by the approved scheme. The Adamstown Planning Scheme supersedes any County Development Plan for its area. The motion therefore refers to areas that fall outside of the draft County Development Plan and is invalid.

Members may wish to note that the objective is agreed by both the Adamstown SDZ Team within SDCC and the Adamstown Developers, that attempts were made to relocate this pylon when the line was diverted south of the railway in the early 00’s but failed due to third party landowner opposition, and that any future review of the Adamstown SDZ will include such an objective. 

 MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION:

That the motion not be adopted.
