MOTION: Councillor S. Crowe

"This Committee calls on the Manager in view of the recent success of Tallaght woman, Rebecca Dillon, winning and recently defending her world championship kick boxing belt to mark the occasion in a suitable manner and at a suitable time".  

REPORT:

The current protocol to honour distinguished persons for their significant achievements provides a clear and streamlined methodology for marking such achievements.

In the first instance all recommendation  should be submitted to the Mayor's office for inclusion on an agenda for discussion with the Group Leaders. Where agreement in principle has been reached, a motion should be placed by the Mayor's office on the agenda of the Organisation Procedure & Finance Committee Meeting for consideration and recommendation. 

The next OP & F meeting will take place in September 2009.
