QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor, TD

To ask the Manager to detail action being taken within the remit of both the Gardaí and the Council   in respect of ongoing problems at the Bus Stop at the Square and will he make a statement.

REPLY:

The Garda CCTV scheme for Tallaght Town Centre area is now in place.  As part of this scheme one camera is constantly monitoring the bus stop referred to by Mr O’Connor, TD, at the west side of the Square opposite Super Value.  The incidence of anti-social behaviour has dropped dramatically as a result.  Gardai on patrol continue to visit this bus stop as a matter of course and take whatever action is necessary there.
