QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

"To ask the Manager will he confirm that a petition by residents calling for increased traffic calming was submitted by residents in the Alderwood Rise Area of Tallaght and will he outline his Departments intentions in regard to this submisssion?"

REPLY:

A request  was recently received  from a resident in Alderwood Rise requesting traffic calming measures on this road. The main issue here would appear to be the speed of cars coming around a near by corner and cars spinning in the general vicinity of the resident's house. By letter dated 30th April 2009, the Council informed the resident that it is proposed to install a traffic island in the vicinity of 1/16 Alderwood Rise. This island will be installed as soon as possible.
