MOTION NO. 2
MOTION: Councillor T. McDermott
"That the Manager take action to regularise the laneway linking Greenacre Court to Knocklyon Grove. Recently the laneway has been the scene of anti-social behaviour, excessive noise, littering and graffiti."
REPORT:
The Anti-Litter Warden reports that this lane was inspected recently and some bags of rubbish were there and were immediately listed for collection by the Cleansing Section but that apart from that, the laneway is not in a particularly poor condition. There is some graffiti on private walls that are the responsibility of private occupiers but other than that the laneway does not require additional cleaning. Private residents should contact the Warden for assistance in removing the graffiti but they may be subject to enforcement action if they do not take action to remove graffiti from their property.
If the predominant issues regarding this laneway relate to anti-social behaviour An Garda Síochana should be contacted. Options for the extinguishment of the right of way could be explored if the local residents wish.
