QUESTION: Councillor C. Keane

"To ask the manager for a report on the open space leading from Butterfield Ave. to Fairways – to give a report on the work that I was told would be carried out there (“within the next two weeks” 8/4/09) . This area is a highly frequented area on route to shops and schools and is an eyesore ,if maintained, it could be a beautiful amenity in the area. (Env & Parks)?"

REPLY:

The Parks Department undertook an extensive clean up of this green area between Butterfield Avenue and Fairways approximately two weeks ago. The works completed consisted of cutting back the shrubs overhanging the footpath, litter picking and strimming back the grass and shrubs along the wall.
