QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave
"To ask the Manager could the tree outside houses 2-20 Hermitage Drive be pruned and could the parks department take into account that the residents in houses 18 and 20 believe that the limbs on the two trees outside their houses are in danger of being blown down causing damage?"
REPLY:
The trees in Hermitage Drive have been assessed by staff from the Parks Department. The trees are quite mature and have achieved considerable size. It is proposed to include the trees for some pruning as part of next season’s Arboricultural Programme which will be ongoing between November 2009 and March 2010.
In relation to the trees outside nos 18 and 20 Hermitage Drive, there is no immediate risk of any limbs being blown off these trees under normal weather conditions.
