Chapter 11/12

That it is the policy within the County Development Plan that the number of off licences per person is dramatically reduced or maintain status quo.

REPORT:

Applications for off licences are considered on a case by case basis. The provision for off-licences are a matter which is confined solely to land use planning, there are wider legal and societal issues.  Development plan polices cannot reduce existing and approved uses.  It is considered that the Development Plan should contain land use policies in relation to informing the planning authority in making a decision on such developments.

Recommendation.

That the Development Plan include policies on the location of off-licences.
