COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (2)
Monday, April 27, 2009
HEADED ITEM NO. 11
PEDESTRIAN CROSSING - HEATHERVIEW
This matter was the subject of an initial examination at the last meeting of the Traffic Management Committee and following consideration, the members present requested that the matter be listed for further consideration at today's meeting of this Area Committee.
The main issue at this stage is the identification of a preferred location. Following confirmation of same, arrangements will be made for a traffic count to be carried out at that location to determine if a warrant exists for the provision of a pedestrian crossing. The count will be carried out as soon as it can be accommodated in the schedule of works and a detailed report will be submitted to a future meeting of the Traffic Management Committee when the results of the count have been processed. Having regard to the current budgetary constraints being imposed on expenditures, if the warrant is reached, the question of the financing of any crossing will then require to be examined.
