QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

"To ask the manager can he give an updated report on the enforcement notice and warning letter ref S5808 in relation to a car wash operation parrallel to *Address Supplied and what action this Authority intends to take in relation to this matter?".

REPLY:

Complaints were received in relation to alleged unauthorised development consisting of the installation on site of  car wash facilities without planning permission on lands at *Address Supplied*.  A Warning Letter pursuant to Section 152 of the Planning & Development Acts, 2000 - 2007, issued to the owner/occupier for same.

A site inspection was carried out and the owner of the lands has advised that the washing of cars has been ongoing since 1977.  There is difficulty in establishing when the car wash was installed, but it is known that it is in existance for at least 5 years, the Council is not in a position to pursue this matter further.
