MOTION NO.15

MOTION: Councillor D. Corrigan

That this Council adopts as a policy objective the creation of long-term jobs within the County, with emphasis being placed on the numbers of jobs created within its business parks rather than the rates payable.

REPORT:

Ensuring that enough land will be available to meet anticipated economic development requirements and that development occurs in a co-ordinated manner is central to the Development Plan. Recent reports to Council, particularly the April Meeting, sets out Council policy in relation to Enterprise and Employment. Creation of viable sustainable employment is the central objective of these policys.

MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Motion be adopted.
