QUESTION: Councillor C. Keane

"To ask the Manager for an update on the parks works that it was agreed would be carried out on the trees in Stonepark and Longwood estate?"

REPLY:

The necessary landscape and tree works in Stonepark Abbey and Longwood estates were agreed between officials from the Parks Department and representatives of the Residents Association at a meeting dated 29-07-08.

The agreed works in Stonepark Abbey were completed on the 27-03-09 by a landscape contractor on behalf of the Parks & Landscape Services Department.

Pruning works to street trees located in the grass margins at the entrance to Stonepark Abbey and Longwood estates have been completed by the Parks & Landscape Services Department as part of the Arboricultural Programme 2008/’09.  It is proposed to complete outstanding street tree pruning works in Longwood Estate as soon as possible.
