MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor T. McDermott

 

"That the Committee direct the Manager to establish the condition of Bolton Hall, Ballyboden, a protected structure Ref 286 and to take all available steps to ensure that any further deteroriation in its condition is avoided."

REPORT:

Officals from the Planning Department have sought to gain access but have been unsuccessful to Bolton Hall in order to assess the state of the protected structure. In order to effect a site inspection, the Planning Department has issued a Section 252 notice under the Planning and Development Act 2000 which requires the site owner to facilitate and allow access to the site by Planning Department officals. Upon inspection, which is intended to take place as soon as possible, the Planning Authority will take appropriate action.
