APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE CAPITAL LOAN AND SUBSIDY SCHEME FROM CIRCLE VOLUNTARY HOUSING ASSOCIATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 6 OF THE HOUSING (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT, 1992 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 40 NO. DWELLINGS AT STOCKING LANE, RATHFARNHAM, DUBLIN 16

REPORT

An application has been received from Circle Housing Association for a loan in the sum of €10,533,947.22 for the construction of 40 no. dwellings at Stocking Lane, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.  The Association is an approved Voluntary Body under Section 5 of the Housing Act, 1988.  The Council has arranged for the acquisition of these units by Circle Voluntary Housing Association under a Part V agreement from Deane Homes Limited under Planning Application permissions SD04A/0393, PL06S.212191.

Under Section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1992 the granting of assistance under the Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme is a reserved function of the Council and is subject to the approval of the Minister for the Environment, heritage and Local Government. 

Accordingly, the following motion is required:

“That this Council recommends that the application for a loan in the sum of €10,533,947.22 under the Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme to Circle Housing Association for the construction of 40 no. dwellings at Stocking Lane, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16 in accordance with the requirements of Section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1992 be approved”.
