MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

"That the Manager gives a status report with respect to the condition of Council owned shops in the West Tallaght area - outlining if the review promised over a year ago has ever commenced, what specific steps have been taken to address the issues raised by me in a previous motion - if no steps have been taken which it would appear to be the case indicate how this will be addressed urgently."

REPORT:

There are a number of residential shops in the ownership of  South Dublin County Council in the West Tallaght area.

Following the recent inspection by the Council into the condition of the shops it was discovered that in most cases the Lessees were no longer in occupation of the units.  As a result of this, the Council will have to proceed to repossess the shops.

The process of repossession has been initiated by the Law Department.
