MOTION NO. 2

MOTION: Councillor S. Crowe

Concerned at the the long term effect and wear, of the culmination of waste matter lodging in gutters, this Committee agrees to ask the manager can he confirm that it is over 20 yrs since many were cleaned in the Killcaraig, Drumcairn and Kilmartin areas of Fettercairn and  in Brookview Estate  in Tallaght  and if any programme currently exists or is proposed for the immediate future

REPORT

The maintenance of gutters of Council rented accomodation is the responsibility of the  tennant as set down in the Appendix attached to each Tenancy Agreement and can be found under "External Repairs" (item  f ).

Therefore, no programme exists or is likley to exist in the near future for the carrying out of such works.

However the Maintenance Section will clean the gutters of Old Age Pensioners and perhaps tenants who have some disability, if requested.

If the Councillor has any  individual requests for such tenants, he could pass them on to the Maintenance Section for attention.
