QUESTION NO. 3
QUESTION: Councillor C. Brophy
"To ask the Manager to implement the work as agreed with Greenhills Boys Football Club and ensure that the ducting for the lighting is done at the same time. Can the Manager also ensure the immediate removal of the clay mound?"
REPLY:
At a meeting on the 12th February 2009, officials from the Parks Department presented representatives of Greenhills Football Club with a master plan for proposed improvements to Greenhills Park which included provision for improvement to the facilities provided for Greenhills Football Club. The proposed improvement works form part of the ancillary and reinstatement works associated with the construction of the all weather bowling green which caused disruption to the pitches in Greenhills Park . Greenhills Football Club indicated agreement in principle to the proposal with a number of minor amendments. The master plan is currently being amended by the Parks Department and will be brought to a future meeting with representatives of Greenhills Football Club for discussion. When the master plan is complete the Parks Department will present the proposals to a future meeting of the Terenure – Rathfarnham Area Committee.
Additional proposals by Greenhills Football Club for the installation of flood lighting to the senior pitch will be subject to a Part 8 Public Consultation Process. Ducting required for the flood lighting can however be installed as part of the scheme for general reinstatement and improvement works to Greenhills Park.
On completion of the all weather bowling green construction works and as part of the overall reinstatement works required in the area, it is proposed that the mound of clay will be removed when weather and ground conditions are appropriate for such work.
