PLEBISCITE FOR PALMERSTON

Since the last report on the proposed holding of a plebiscite was presented at the January 2009 meeting the draft list of Qualified Electors to take the plebiscite was published.  

Notices were placed in the Irish Independent, Lucan Gazette and Local News advising of the inspection period which closed on 26th February 2009.   Documentation was made available on the website, at County Hall , Clondalkin Civic Office and libraries located within the Lucan Clondalkin Electoral Area. The draft list of Qualified Electors as published comprises of all those electors registered on the Live Register of Electors for the Polling Districts of Palmerston 1(Register Book FJ), Palmerston 2 (Register Book FK), Cherry Orchard (Register Book FI) & development at Coldcut (in Register Book FG) and the Rated Occupiers of premises located within the geographical area in question.

Two submissions were received from local residents requesting that they be circulated with plebiscite papers. 

It is now a matter for this council to formally adopt the List of Qualified Electors and to proceed immediately thereafter with the taking of the plebiscite.
