QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
To ask the Manager if the provision by the Council of Park and Ride faciilities serving the N4 and the N7 are still under active consideration by the Council and if he will make a statement on the matter?
REPLY:
The N4 and N7 are ideal corridors for the provision of Park and Ride facilities, particularly, because of the existance of QBC's along the routes. The Council is anxious that a Park and Ride facility be provided on the N4 corridor to replace that which was turned down by An Bord Pleanala in 2008 as shown on the Council Website. Preliminary discussions have taken place with The Department of Transport and other stakeholders with a view to progressing same along the N4. In addition the provision of a Park and ride facility on the N7 is also being examined. The Councillor will be advised as progress is made.
