QUESTION NO. 3
QUESTION: Councillor C. Brophy
"To ask the Manager to provide information on why the pedestrian underpass access under the M50 from Templeogue Road/Tallaght Road has remained closed even when there is no visible construction work in progress. Can any system be put in place to facilitate cyclists and pedestrians using this underpass?"
REPLY:
The construction of the underpass at the west side of the Balrothery Interchange (M50 N81) is closed for the construction of a freeflow ramp. The ramp includes an additional underpass as a continuation of the cycle track and footway at this location. In order to improve the layout of the underpass its design has been modified and additional structural elements have been ordered. All existing movements, for the time being, are via the pedestrian crossing to the west of the roundabout.
