MOTION: Councillor E. Maloney

"That this Committee requests the Parks Dept., to consider the provision of Allotments within the Tallaght area."

REPORT:

There are currently 2 allotment sites within the Tallaght area, one at Tymon Park and one at Friarstown, Bohernabreena.  The Tymon Park allotment site contains 13 plots which are all 100 sq metres in size. The site at Friarstown contains 122 plots all varying in size.  There are 250 people on the county wide Allotments Waiting List.

There is provision in the rolling Capital Programme to increase the number of allotments within the County, however this is subject to funding.
