Selection of Further Traffic Calming Schemes

The Traffic Calming Programme 2 comprises the selection of 4 schemes in each of the 5 Electoral Areas.  One scheme has been selected to date in this programme for the Tallaght South Electoral Area.  This scheme comprises the areas :-

Killinarden Estate, Knockmore Estate, Donomore Estate and Hazelgrove.

At a recent meeting with Members of the Tallaght South Electoral Area the following 2 schemes were recommended for selection:-

(a)  Cloonmore Estate, DeSelby Estate, Kiltalawn Estate, Saggart Abbey, Carrigmore, Corbally, Fortunestown Lane, Verschoyle and Westbrook.

(b)  Forest Hills and Rathlawns, Rathcoole.

It should be noted that some areas included in scheme (a) above are not yet in charge of the Council.  Accordingly, traffic calming measures cannot be installed in these areas until they are taken in charge by the Council.  These areas are Carrigmore, Fortunestown Lane west of Citywest Road, Saggart Abbey, Verschoyle Estate, The Belfry, and DeSelby north of DeSelby Court.

The selection of these 2 schemes is now before the Committee.
