MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

Monday, February 09, 2009

QUESTION NO. 6

QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

To ask the Manager in view of the historic significance of this year in relation to the An Chead Dail, the  GAA and the  ITGWU does he  plan to mark any of these occasions in the  County during the year?

REPLY:

This Council is conscious of the significance of the Year 2009 and a number of our departments are currently examining options and proposals to suitably recognise, commemorate, and celebrate the achievements  and enormous contributions of the aforementioned to this county and the country at large.

A programme of events to mark these anniversaries in an appropriate manner ( to coincide where  possible with the various national events) will be prepared and brought before the members in the very near future
