MOTION: Councillor C. Brophy

"That the Manager outline what work is required to rectify the ongoing problems with sewage experienced by houses in Shelton Drive."

REPORT:

On 18th January last the combined public main blocked on Shelton Drive resulting in the road flooding.

During the high rainfall event of the 5th September 2008 the main also blocked  resulting in the gardens of Numbers 18, 20 & 22 Shelton Drive flooding.

This public main  flows through a series of manholes in private property  at this location.

This old main drains into the combined drain on the Whitehall Road. The Whitehall Road scheme, which is currently at an advance stage, should help relieve the issue.

A CCTV survey will be carried out this month to determine any other drainage anomalies at this location which can be remedied.
