The above figures represent the 2008 usage levels of the bring bank at Grange Road/Sarah Curran Avenue and shows the facility as a very successful site.
In attempting to improve the facility and remove the issues that have arisen at the site over the years, arrangements are being made for the installation of appropriate bring banks at the location following agreement in principle with the OPW for the incorporation of the existing site into their grounds. The Environmental Services Department are in the process of identifying funding and making the necessary arrangements with suppliers/contractors and for facility servicing.
The area of the bottle bank in question is regularly inspected and cleaned as required and it is not considered that the noise level is anything out of the ordinary at this location. CCTV provision is not considered necessary at this site as the level of littering would not justify the installation of cameras and associated costs but this can be reviewed on a regular basis if the position changes.
