QUESTION: Councillor R. Dowds

This committee expresses its disappointment that the Gardai, after numerous requests from this committee, have not organised a presentation by Store Street Gardai of an effective community policing programme they have run in the North Inner City.

REPLY:

Garda management has prepared a report on this matter in conjunction with the HSE. This report is now with the Garda Commissioner. It is envisaged that the model will be rolled out in the near future. We are not in a position to give presentations on this matter until Garda policy has been determined.
