In the absence of An Cathoirleach, Cllr T. McDermott, Cllr G.O’Connell presided at the start of the meeting.

1. Minutes of meeting of the SPC held on 3^rd September 2008.  Noted and Agreed.

1. Matters Arising – No matters arising

 

1. Update on Climate Change Strategy – It was noted that CODEMA the Dublin City Company engaged by the Council to draft a Climate Change Strategy for the County had recently informed the Council that due to a staff shortage it was not possible to prepare a draft strategy within the original time frame i.e. 7^th November 2008 and that it is now proposed that the draft strategy will be available for referral to the SPC Working Group early in 2009.  An Cathaoirleach expressed his disappointment at the delay.

    Meeting.

1. Draft Water Services Strategic Plan for the Dublin Region – Powerpoint presentation on the Water Services Plan for the Dublin Region was presented by Tom Moyne, Senior Engineer.  Mr Moyne responded to various questions raised by the members

1. New Water Services for Dublin – A short video on possible new water services for the Dublin Region was presented by Tom Moyne Senior Engineer.

1. Glass Collection and Recycling – A Policy Review

Deferred

1. Survey of Dumping – A report on this matter which had been circulated was presented by P. Harty Senior Executive Engineer.  Mr Harty responded to various questions raised by the members.
