MOTION NO. 8

MOTION: Councillor T. McDermott

"That this Committee discuss the measures available to it to alleviate parking problems in the residential areas adjacent to Rathfarnham Shopping Centre, particularly Fairways, which has been seriously affected by the decision of the Shopping Centre management to ban staff from parking in the public carpark - including conditions in the planning permission for the Shopping Centre regarding parking spaces for staff."

REPORT:

At the 22nd January 09 Traffic Management Meeting the following was agreed with respect to Parking Problems at Fairways:

Provision of double yellow lines was not recommended as they would not solve the problem.

Refer to Planning Enforcement - to establish if the Shopping Centre is in breach of their planning conditions.

Liaise with Residents Association regarding consideration being given to the provision of Pay and Display.
