MOTION NO.  9

MOTION: Councillor C. Brophy

"That the Manager provide an update on the proposed traffic calming scheme which will include Mountdown Road and Muckross Avenue with particular regard to the completion dates for this scheme."

REPORT:

The No 2 Traffic Calming Scheme in Programme 2 comprises the following areas:- Dangan/Shelton/Fernhill/Hillsbrook and Muckross.

While Muckross Anenue is included in the Scheme, it should be noted that Mountdown Road is not part of the scheme.

Consultative meetings have recently been held with representatives from the two Residents Associations active in the area. The concerns expressed by both these groups have been taken into consideration in the design of the traffic calming scheme which is presently underway. It is envisaged that the design of the scheme will be available in mid February. The Terenure/Rathfarnham Area Committee will be appraised of the proposed measures  and a further meeting will be held with the two residents groups prior to commencing the formal public consultation phase of the scheme.
