QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren
“To ask the Manager to recognise the need to provide a proper stub wall and railings on the open space opposite the houses at Ely Crescent just off the Oldcourt Road, as a means of preventing children from running onto this busy road, if in the context of discussions with Dublin Bus about their tentative proposal for a new bus stop, shelter and lay-by at this location, if funds could be provided for the said stub wall and railings, and if the Manager would recognise the potential danger which exists at this location, given the proximity of the 4 houses on Ely Crescent to the Oldcourt Road, and if he would make a statement on the matter?”
REPLY:
Discussions between the Roads Department and Dublin Bus remain ongoing with regard to the location and extent of a bus parking bay in this area. When the location of the bus parking bay has been agreed, the matter of securing the boundary of the open space will be considered in conjunction with the Roads Department.
Members will be kept updated on this matter.
