MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (1)

MOTION NO. 10

MOTION: Councillor J. Hannon

That urgent and effective action be taken to deal with the ongoing harassment of residents of Daletree, continuous dumping of refuse in the immediate vicinity, anti-social behaviour emanating from certain families resident nearby, vandalising of residents cars, cars being burned out, and, given that these problems have been evident for the past 2 years, this Committee requests the Manager to adopt a strong and co-ordinated approach, in conjunction with the Gardai, in an effort to provide residents with a quality of life to which they are entitled and which they currently do not enjoy due to the actions of a few.

REPORT:

The anti social behaviour which is occuring  at Daletree Estate is linked, in the main to one extended family. This family will be issued with a final written warning in relation to the unacceptability of their behaviour in the near future and if this does not bring about a cessation of the anti social behaviour notice to quit may be served.

The Council remains in contact with Gardai from Rathfarnham station regarding  Daletree and monthly Liasion meetings are held with residents and relevant departments about ongoing issues in the estate.

The Environmental Services department carried out a major clean up of this area last weekend and the Litter Warden has undertaken to pay special attention to the problems which have arisen recently in relation to dumping and burnt out cars.
