SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TERENURE-RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE (2)

MOTION NO 3.
MOTION: Councillor T. McDermott
"That this Committee discuss, with the aid of a report from the Manager, proposals made in a recent consultants report to Dublin City Council that part of the green space between Springfield Avenue (R112) and the river Dodder be developed as a car-park."
REPORT:
Dublin City Council commissioned consultants MosArt to produce a Masterplan for the future development and improvement of Bushy Park. Amongst the various considerations was the provision of car parking to service Bushy Park. Two locations were identified. One at Rathdown Avenue within Dublin City Council administrative area and a proposal for a second car park on an area of open space along Springfield Avenue which forms part of the Dodder Valley Linear Park in the South Dublin administrative area. A presentation of the report in its draft format was made to residents in December and it is the intention of the City Council to make a presentation in the near future to a joint meeting of elected representatives from both Dublin City and South Dublin administrative areas. Dublin City’s Parks Department have also been contacted to arrange a meeting with officials from South Dublin County Council’s Parks Department and Roads Traffic section to discuss the recommendations of the report. The proposal is for the location of a 55-space car park on part of the open space that runs between the River Dodder and Springfield Avenue and directly opposite Woodview Cottages.
