QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager whether the motorcycle vendor in rathfarnham Village has permission to place motorcycles for sale on the footpath of the village?"

REPLY:

It is an offence under Section 71 of the Roads Act 1993 to place or retain a vehicle for the purpose of advertising, sale of goods, provision of services or other similar purpose on a public road without the authorisation of the Roads Authority.

No such authorisation exists in the case in question. The location will be visited and appropriate action will be taken.
