QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

"To ask the manager will he give a report on the capacity and use of park and ride facilities that come under this Committees jurisdiction and responsibility?"

REPLY:

There are two park and ride sites in the Tallaght area, both of these serve the Luas system. At the Red Cow 736 spaces are provided and at Tallaght 400 spaces are provided. A total of 1,136 spaces. Parking is charged at €4 per day and €2 for a half day. The Red Cow facility serves the N7 and is well used and can be congested during major events in the city centre. The newer Tallaght facility has parking generally available and is expected to become full as it becomes established. Management of these car parks is the responsibility of the Railway Procurement Agency.
