QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

"To ask the manager in view of the worsening economic climate will he outline when he proposes to publish and make available the proposed Draft Economic Strategy paper ?"

REPLY:

Arising from Action 14 of the South Dublin County Development Board Strategy “South Dublin – A Place for People”,  The Economic Development Working Group of the South Dublin County Development Board was given the task of producing an economic strategy for the county.

The South Dublin Chamber is the lead agency on this action of the County Strategy.  A small working group of the Economic Development Working Group was established to progress this action.  This working group was made up of representatives of the South Dublin Chamber, South Dublin County Council and the South Dublin County Enterprise Board.  This working group reported back to the Economic Working Group which has representatives from not only the above groups but the local development area partnerships, I.D.A., FAS, and Partas.    

A strategy was agreed by the members of the County Development Board and will be officially launched by the Chair of the County Development Board, Cllr. Eamon Tuffy, in early 2009.
