MOTION NO 4.

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

CATHAOIRLEACH'S BUSINESS

"That the Manager resolves the issues raised below as requested by the Prospect Manor Residents Association

·       Finish the landscaping of the area around the Owendoher Bridge.

·       Tree replacement as promised by Parks department.

·       Removal of the old footpath to Springvale.

·       What plans to upgrade the condition of the wall between Springvale and Prospect Manor."

REPORT:

Landscaping and regrading works in the area around the Owendoher Bridge have been completed.  Subject to the availability of funding, the replacement of trees will be undertaken as part of the Arboricultural Programme which is ongoing to March 2009.  The section of old footpath leading to Springvale will be removed and the route reinstated to grass in late spring/early summer 2009 when ground and weather conditions are more favourable for such works.  Planting of the area along the wall between Springvale and Prospect Manor will be undertaken by the Parks Department in early 2009 as part of the 2008/09 Arboricultural Programme.  Proposed planting will include climbing plants to cover the wall with a frontal screen of shrub planting.
