QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

"To ask the manager in view of the recognised and welcome success of the link initative between this Council and St Aidans School Brookview, will he outline will there be an expansion and extension of this scheme?".

REPLY:

"The Connect School project in St Aidan's Community School, Brookfield is promoting and developing the use of technology in education. The development of the Virtual Learning Environment will make educational and curriculum material available to all students. The project was recognised in the recent Excellence in Local Goverment Awards 2008 sponsored by Chambers Ireland winning the Technology category.

As the project develops, the learning and experience gained will be made available to schools within the County".
