QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor, TD

To ask the Manager to outline continued efforts by the Council and the Gardaí to deal effectively with Crime, Vandalism and Anti-Social Behaviour in the general Tallaght West area and will he make a statement.

REPLY:

The Gardaí at Tallaght continue to put various operations into force throughout Tallaght including West Tallaght to curb crime, vandalism and Anti-Social Behaviour.

The Community Gardaí at Tallaght are represented on the Steering Committee for the CDI Community Safety Initiative in West Tallaght.  This committee will deliver a programme designed to deliver tangible improvements in community safety in pilot areas of West Tallaght and, in the future, across West Tallaght.  The CDI Community Safety Initiative Steering Committee would welcome the opportunity to make a presentation on the initiative to the Joint Policing Committee at a future meeting.
