MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor K. Warren

"that this committee agrees to the installation of filter lights on the Firhouse road west, at the Aylesbury and Old Bawn junction, allowing traffic to escape right into the shopping district of Aylesbury from the northern end of the road and  equally a right filter light to allow traffic enter Old Bawn estate when travelling from the southern end of the road".

REPORT:

This matter has been the subject of a number of discussions at previous meetings of the Area Committee including the making of a detailed presentation on the recommended options to address the traffic issues a number of months ago. As agreed by the Area Committee, the traffic issues raised in this motion and related matters are being re-examined by the Council's Consultant. It is anticipated that his further report will be received shortly and following its consideration a further detailed presentation will be made to a future meeting of the Area Committee.
