QUESTION: Councillor E. Maloney

"To ask the manager as to whether the improvements to the open space between Woodlawn Park Grove and the Ballycullen Road will be carried out in next year's works programme as the pathways need to be refurbished, the open space enhanced and the hedgerow cleaned and cut back and will he make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

As part of the Parks Department Works Programme 2008, a number of existing footpaths throughout the open space area are currently undergoing refurbishment.  It is proposed that additional pathways will be inspected and considered for refurbishment in 2009, subject to the necessary funding being secured. The hedgerow at this location will also be inspected and pruning and cleaning works will be considered as part of the 2008/09 Arboricultural Programme.
