QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon

"To ask the Manager to report on what provision is being made for public open space and children's recreational area at *address supplied. ?"

REPLY:

The Council's Architectural Services Department report that an area of open space has been identified in conjunction with the residents of the area that will be prepared for use as open space for the residents of Mac Uillaim.

Some work has to be carried out to bring the ground up to the standard required.  The work has been costed and funding has been identified which will allow for this preparatory work to be carried out.  It is expected that this work will be carried out and that the new opwn space area will be ready in a matter of weeks.

In the meanwhile, the Council is reviewing the options open to it with regard to land set aside
